It can save a lot of money for you. But you might be wondering, how do you do that?
Simple! Be mindful of such terrains. We have rounded up a list of places where you should avoid driving a mobility scooter.
1. Inclined Roads
Mobility scooters have powerful batteries that can get fast if you want. Most mobilities can go up to 7 miles per hour, but there is a catch.

They operate perfectly in specific locations.
Avoid inclined roads – Because mobility scooters operate seamlessly on smooth or leveled surfaces.
In rare cases, they can go uphill as well. But doing that, you are simply jeopardizing your overall problems. If you have a physical injury or a specific medical condition, your doctor would certainly advise you that beforehand. It can worsen your ailments or could do more harm than good by losing control or balance.
Conversely, it can affect the performance of the mobility scooter as well. We advise our rental customers to avoid riding on inclined paths in any case.
2. Pavements
Most of our rental customers and scooter owners have this question in mind.
Can they ride mobility scooters on paved roads or pavements? Yes, of course, they can ride scooters on pavements. But it is recommended not to. Since you need a scooter that is built to work well on pavements.

Moreover, because a lot of pedestrians walk on mobility scooters – Riders could lose complete control over scooters. In such a situation, they can be harmful to people on sidewalks. Plus, riding on paved roads may require you to drive within a speed limit (for example – 4 mph in the UK) in several countries. If you ride over the limit, it is breaking the law. You might get sentenced in that case.
Most importantly, the pavements are irregular surfaces. It is like riding with hiccups. Pavements are not an ideal place to drive the scooters. A lot of people walking on sideroads, you might hit. It can do a lot of damage to both you, mobility, and the pedestrian.
3. Rough Terrains
Rought terrains include a wide range of surfaces. It can be a playground, uneven roads, gardens with stones, or roads with dirt. These grounds are off-roads. Such lands require specialized vehicles to move around.

Mobility scooters are not suitable for this purpose. Although most mobility scooters are portable and easy to transport, they do not move around everywhere. You have to conscious of their actual functionality. It can keep unwanted troubles at bay.
4. Grass or Gravel
Running or sitting on the grass is a great way to relax. Kids love to play on them all day. But it is not a nice playground for everyone. Especially when you are physically unfit, you are prone to get injured. Therefore, you need to be aware of the consequences.

Even riding a mobility scooter too is not an appropriate thing to do. Most lawns with grass look pretty smooth, but they are not. There could be stones, gravel, or hard rock beneath the surface. That can get you stuck or hurt badly.
Mobilities have a low ground clearance which makes them incompatible with sandy conditions. Even if you mistakenly head to a grassland, make sure you can drive safely.
5. Sand or Beaches
Sandy routes or beaches with muddy land are highly resistive to motor vehicles. Most vehicles that move on these kinds of surfaces come in the category of off-road vehicles. Off-road carriers are powerful. The off-road devices can move effectively on these landscapes due to exclusive tire design and engine performance.

On the other side, less potent devices such as mobility scooters would hardly move there. Even if you try too hard, you could get along only a few inches. The mobilities drive are not efficient on such tracks. Additionally, it could impact the condition and performance of mobilities as well.
If you want mobilities to drive specifically on sandy or rough trails, it is better to purchase or rent an offroad mobility scooter. It fundamentally is built to operate perfectly on such terrains.
